Museum: USNM 5919. Reported from Trio Island. A single, large individual was observed in a rocky reef at around 20 meters deep (Ref. 128523). Juveniles were reported from Sha Ha (Ref. 125515); and Starfish Bay (Ref. 125536). The species was observed on 101 to 200 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Found in live fish markets (Ref. 27253, 125552). Commonly consumed in Hong Kong (Ref. 125589). Also Ref. 2852, 4787, 94637.
